Description

The 1983 USPS Commemorative Mint Set features three 20 cent 4-stamp blocks on hot air ballooning (Scott #2032-2035), American inventors (Scott #2055-2058), and Street Cars (Scott #2059-2062). A total of 16 stamps of multiple denominations celebrate the 1984 Los Angeles olympics (Scott #2048-2051, C101-C112). Individual stamps honor, among others, Benjamin Franklin (Scott #2036), Joseph Priestly (Scott #2038), Scott Joplin (Scott #2044), Babe Ruth (Scott #2046), and Nathaniel Hawthorne (Scott #2047). The 1983 edition continues the trend toward a larger album with more illustrative photos and text. All stamps are mint, original gum, never hinged and included within the original sealed packet.
